Over a dozen of houses have been inundated in various places of Deukhuri in Dang district due to incessant rain since last Monday. While some houses were completely submerged and rendered inhabitable, some houses have sustained partial damages, according to the District Police Office, Dang.

DSP Rajan Gautam shared that some 10 to 12 houses at Bhurkihawa, Rajpur rural municipality-5 in the district have been submerged after the Rapti River got swollen due to the rain.

Some houses at Kantipur and Sunadwari of Lamahi Municipality have been inundated, informed DSP Gautam. Belongings in the houses were taken out and people in those houses were shifted to safer places.

Meanwhile, the incessant rainfall has obstructed Kalakate-Gobarhida road section along the Postal Highway in the district since Tuesday morning, police said.

The flood in Chandapur River along the Bela-Lamahi road section has affected vehicular movement, said DSP Gautam. A four-wheeler with the registration number Ba 11 Cha 9511 was swept away by the flood in the river at Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City this morning. The driver of the vehicle was rescued safely, police said.
